What is Hot Bird?

Hot Bird is the name of a group of satellites operated by Eutelsat. These satellite transmit channels over Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Why would I want to receive Hot Bird channels?

If you are looking to receive satellite television channels from other parts of the world, you will need to have receive channels broadcast from the Hot Bird or EUTELSAT satellites. You can recieve Italian, Spanish, German, Polish, Scandanavian and many other channels from a variety of countries. Some of the channels are free. Some of them require subscription.

How do I get Hot Bird channels?

You will need a satellite dish and a decoder. If you have the time, skills and patience it is possible to tune into these channels from a SKY decoder. You may already have one of these. You will need to re-align your satellite dish. However, the easiest solution is to purchase a new decoder and or have a qualified satellite engineer re-align or replace your satellite dish to enable you to receive the Hot Bird channels.
